More ways to look up SLC results this year

In a bid to make the School Leaving Certificate results available more easily, the government is planning to provide the results not only by the phone, as it did last year, but also through SMS, said news reports. Nepal Telecom said Saturday that this year it was planning to make the results available through SMS as well as increase the number of circuits available for those calling the 1600 line for their results. Those who want to get their results through their mobile phones will need to send an SMS with the text “slc” followed by a space and the seven-digit symbol number to 1400. Like last year, callers can get results by dialling 1600 and providing the symbol number. Nepal Telecom, which provides this service using Interactive Voice Response technology, has increased the number of circuits available for this purpose to 300 from 60 last year, i.e. a fivefold increase. The results will also be available on the websites of Nepal Telecom, the Department of Education and the Ministry of Education and Sports. State-owned Radio Nepal reported that the SLC results would be available within a week.
